Marifa Lodge was established as a Care Home in 1988.  Residents come from Welney and the villages around, from South Norfolk and North Cambridgeshire, and from other parts of England.

Our home

Marifa Lodge Care Home, Delph House is registered with the Commission for Social Care Inspection to provide care for twenty-two elderly residents.

Our facilities

Our most vital resource is our friendly and committed team of staff.  For a new resident moving into a care home can be a difficult time for him or her and their family.

Our staff will help to make the move as easy as possible by carefully identifying individual needs, regularly reviewing them, and always treating clients with professionalism and dignity.

Delph House is set in 2 ½ acres of landscaped gardens.  There is a smooth path running all round the buildings to make walking safe and easy, and residents and visitors are encouraged to go out and enjoy the shrubs and flowers.  There are garden seats within reach and a summer-house in one corner of the lawn.

We are situated on the A1101 between Littleport and Wisbech.  Other towns within easy reach include Downham Market, Ely, March and Chatteris.

If you would like more information, or to arrange a visit, please contact the manager Graham Rainbird on 01354 610 300.

Our Philosophy

Security

We aim to maintain a secure and happy environment for every resident so that she or he confidently regards Delph House as their own home.

Support

We aim to provide whatever help and support a resident needs, within our capabilities, whilst encouraging and respecting her or his independence and autonomy.

Choice

The autonomy of the individual should be the key to both making decisions about everyday issues and in determining the major direction of his or her life.

Independence

Staff working with our residents should enhance the confidence and competence of each individual helping her or him to do things for her/himself whenever possible.

Participation

Residents should whenever possible be helped to maintain and develop friendships and relationships with each other, and in the community beyond the home.

Respect

Residents should be treated with respect by all staff and by visiting service providers.

Fulfilment

Residents should as far as possible and as far as they wish lead meaningful, purposeful and active lives.
